This year Agency. Art Ru is taking part in the international art fair Cosmoscow for the sixth time. Our exposition will present series of graphic works by Dima Philippof, mixed-media canvases by Ludmila Boronina and big installation project by Roman Sakin. Each artist has their own very special way to express the reaction to the present state of our world.
On her canvases Lyudmila Baronina capture fairy tale plots but implementing the real life scenarios helps her to create awakening frames, welcoming the viewer to continue the dialog. Bright and eccentric installation “Universal chest of national art” is created by the hand of Roman Sakin. The project spreads the light on 4 categories of Russian contemporary art: the art of non-sensual war, art made during the revolution, the one related to repressions and nonofficial art and the art of New Year. Following the artist’s idea each of four time periods is repeating through out the history, so eventually the artefacts that other artists can find inside the chest will be relevant to the time period the creator is going through.
Series of graphic works “Malenkiy snegovik” (“Small snowman”) by Dima Philippov invites the viewer to interact with each canvas face to face due to its fragile photography-like technique. Site specific yet vey abstract Philippov’s works flicker from the position of being pencil drawn landscape illustration to the position of a monument, reflecting relations with memory and a place as a physical and metaphysical statement.
Artists we represent this year: Roman Sakin, Dima Philippov and Lyudmila Baronina.
