This spring our gallery became a participant of the international art&design fair Bad+Bordeaux.

Project for Bad+ art fair represents a «Global behind the scenes conference» which is being illustrated by the author as a «Feast in Time of Plague» that was inappropriate in the context of historical events. The theme of not only the conspiracy and subsequent events, but also about the personal collapse of the customary world is being revealed, welcoming the viewer to join the dialog of author and the artwork.

Additional info for the Natalia Pivko works:
The “black swan” theory was popularised by the book of the same name by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. The term comes from an ancient Latin saying that something is as true or as probable “as a black swan”. Even second-century Roman philosophers used this phrase to describe a thing of impossibility. Later in the Middle Ages and into the 16th century, a black swan was a figure of speech for something that simply did no exist.

In traditional Mexican Ex-voto artists depicted accidents and their gratitude for the recovery after. Natalia Pivko in her works leaves the place for the appreciation blank. The artist sheds the light on scenarios where the size of a viewer is not bigger than a blade of grass, so that the problem can be looked at from a different perspective. How the accident ended up and is there a need to thank heaven — everyone should make the decision on their own. :)

Second artist of the booth Alexander Krylov:
In his works Alexander Krylov is using the sign=symbol=icon of the digital world — healthbar — which helps the author to articulate the relationship=connection=contact of the human and digital. This lifeline that each character is endowed with represents the metaphor for the contradictory of all manifestations of the world around.
